Restoration Coffee: A New Twist in an Old Market

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

About the Business

Matt Wood, a former BMW and Tesla technician, founded Restoration Coffee in an attempt to get out of the motor world. He wants to change individuals' perception of coffee as it is more about the flavor's potential of the beverage. With two locations (East Bridgewater and Whitman) and one location coming soon in downtown Bridgewater (wicked excited!!!) the coffee shop has greatly impacted the coffee market by offering healthier lattes, teas and espressos in addition to coffee and on-the-go breakfasts/lunches.

"Coffee is not just something you drink to keep you going..."-Matt Wood

Coffee Kidology

"Coffee is unhealthy" is a common misconception among society. The coffee itself has numerous health benefits including helping in burning fat, increasing energy levels and decreasing the risk of Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's and type 2 Diabetes. According to Harvard Medical School, a study conducted in November of 2015 confirmed a link between moderate consumption of coffee and a longer lifespan as there was "an 8% to 15% reduction in risk of death." However, loading it with cream, milk and sweetener causes the negative image of such a wonderful beverage. Let's be honest here, not many people drink black coffee. But, there are numerous alternatives to these fattening yet tasty additives.

Sweet Substitutes

To begin with, I will admit I love my coffee with extra cream and extra sugar. Too many additives, like anything, is never a good thing. To lighten up your coffee try these less-fattening alternatives:

~Almond Milk

~Skim Milk

~Oatmilk

~Cashew Milk

~Coconut Milk

While a few of them may add a slightly different flavor to your everyday beverage, they contain less calories and more vitamins and nutrients. If you are like me and have a major sweet tooth substitute all that sugar with:

~Honey

~Maple Syrup

~Monkfruit Extracts

Restoration Coffee or Restoration Matcha

Where I have tried matcha lattes from numerous places, I have to say Restoration Coffee's iced matcha lattes are by far the best I have ever had. Most lattes have a noticeable separation of the matcha powder and the milk, however, RC lattes perfect the blend well as it rich and creamy. Additionally, the Gabby Latte (mocha hazelnut) has a wonderful balance of milk and flavor which is a great way to start the day.

With wicked friendly staff and amazing lattes Restoration Coffee is the place to go for your morning coffee or on-the-go meal.
